Reconnect with your passion for photography at Bruny Island.
Welcome to a unique 4-night astrophotography experience set on one of Tasmania’s most photogenic and remote islands. Bruny Island offers pristine landscapes, abundant wildlife, and some of the darkest skies in the Southern Hemisphere. During this workshop, you’ll develop your skills in nightscape photography, image stacking for noise reduction, star tracker use, and time-lapse photography.
Explore a range of incredible locations, from coastal cliffs and lighthouses to remote beaches and aurora-viewing lookouts.
Each day includes hands-on instruction, advanced post-processing sessions, and real-world shooting practice. We’ll also provide star trackers for guided use in the field, giving you a chance to experiment with tracked wide-field Milky Way images.
This workshop is designed for photographers who want to grow their skills in:
Nightscape photography
Image stacking to reduce noise
Using star trackers (equipment provided for participants)
Time-lapse and star trail photography
Advanced post-processing techniques
We'll combine hands-on instruction in the field with in-depth editing sessions, and all post-processing lessons will be recorded so you can revisit them after the trip. The itinerary is kept flexible to adapt to weather, lighting, and group interests, ensuring we make the most of every opportunity under the stars or otherwise.
Come with me on a journey of discovery, to push boundaries and ignite your passion for photography. This workshop is more than just learning how to take better photos. It’s a chance to leave the busy world behind and connect with something deeper. On Bruny Island, where the stars shine bright over cliffs and ocean, you’ll discover the joy of being present in nature, create images that truly inspire you, and restore your sense of peace and purpose. It’s not just about the camera, it’s about the experience, the place, and what you take home with you beyond the pictures.
